TCP for Periscope or Angled Lenses

Hi everyone!

How would you measure and input the TCP for periscope or angled lenses to get the XYZ match to what you are viewing in camera?

Cheers!

Ahmad

Alright~ Will try it out

Thank you Daniel!

How can I offset a motion to start at a new position?

Is there a way I can offset a Slim Control to keep it's path (for compositing), but start from a different location?

Yes, there is!

Once you are ready to offset your motion path, I first recommend you SAVE AS a new program just in case you mess it up (that way you can always go back to your original program).

Next, go to the "Scale" tab on the relevant Slim Control. Press the set offset, move to the new position, and click OK (just like you would for setting other positions).

Finally click the "OffsetMove" button, this will make a relative offset of the Slim Control Start and all robot nodes to work from the new Offset Position as the start.

TIP

  • Be careful not to change your Tilt and Roll values at the offset position. While the program positions will be offset, it is rare that that sort of change is desirable (note changes to those may also impact how Horizontal/Vertical "HV" Bezier handles shape the move)

  • Run "Evaluate Path" to make sure the robot can reach the new path and execute in the designated duration.

  • Run the move slowly after offsetting to make sure the robot does what you expect

How can I measure thing so that you can make adapter plates for me?

I have a camera that needs a new adapter plate.

Can you let me know what types of measurements you need to make an adapter plate?

Part 5: Tips

  • Most cameras use 1/4-20 and 3/8-16 screws

  • Common hole spacings are: 9mm, 9.5mm, 10mm, 25.4mm

  • The most accurate measurements are made when measuring the holes which are furthest apart

  • Take pictures/measure any nearby obstructions (i.e. Are there any buttons/bulges sticking up which may foul a plate mounted where you measured?)

What are Bloop and Metronome Nodes?

Bloop and metronome nodes create beeps or flashes using the IO and bloop boxes (see this forum post on installation https://www.d2motion.com/forum/questions-answers/how-to-install-an-io-bloop-box ).

  • Bloop and metronome nodes are triggered within the Slim Control they exist. Bloop and metronome nodes outside of a Slim Control block do nothing

  • Bloop and metronome nodes can be inserted at any place within the Slim Control. They do not impact nodes before or after themselves. They will be triggered at the target time within the move regardless of other nodes around them

  • Either the Light, Buzz, or both can be enabled

  • Bloop and metronome nodes must take place within the total duration of all robot nodes (and ideally more than 0.25 seconds from the end as they are turned off after that amount of time)

  • I recommend adding a pause to the start or end of the move for the bloop and shown in the program…

Example of a metronome node which will first trigger at 0.5 seconds into the move, then trigger 3 more times (4 total) at 1 second intervals.
